This module examines the grieving process, the differences between grief and other conditions, such as depression, and challenges for the bereaved. Ways to support people from the time of anticipating a loss through bereavement are presented. The unique challenges of caregiver-related grief and strategies for self-care are discussed. The goal of this course is to provide general staff and nonlicensed direct care workers in palliative care with knowledge of caring for the bereaved.
